Nemeth brace sinks hosts
Luxembourg 0-4 Hungary
May 5 2006

By Andrew Haigh, Stade John Grun, Mondorf.

One of Hungarian football's biggest prospects - Krizstian Nemeth - was the star as Hungary swept aside Luxembourg.
After losing their first match to Russia, the match against the hosts was a must win for the ambitious Hungarians.
But despite the win they still have the unenviable task of playing playing Spain in the final group match, needing a result to have a chance of qualifying.
After an even first half, in which Luxembourg were denied on numerous occasions by goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi, Hungary dominated the second.
After the break Nemeth scored the first of his brace before the prolific number nine doubled the lead just seven minutes into the second period.
Nemeth then earned Hungary a penalty when he was fouled in the box. Skipper Vladimir Koman stepped up and slotted home a powerful spot-kick.
Mark Nikhazi rounded of the result with a lob late in the game.
